December 2025 Fishing Report

Our winter fishery in Key West is starting to take shape, and the conditions are looking better every day. Large schools of bait are moving into the shallows, which means plenty of predators are close behind. Throughout the winter months, frequent cold fronts push fresh waves of bait through the backcountry—creating some of the most exciting action of the year.

Key West Fishing Report

Depending on conditions, we’ll either net live bait with a cast net or use artificial lures. The variety of species available this time of year is almost endless and changes daily with the wind and weather. During the winter season in Key West, we commonly encounter trout, snapper, grouper, cobia, permit, jacks, sharks, barracuda, ladyfish, yellowjacks, mackerel, and many more.

When the weather allows, we may also run to shallow wrecks or natural structures. These spots hold an incredible amount of life during the cooler months, often producing fast-paced action and impressive variety.
